Starfyn Education are looking for hard working and motivated SEN Teaching assistants to work in an ' outstanding ' and hardworking school-who want the best for their staff and pupils, in and around Clapham Area.
The school caters for pupils from Nursery through to Post 16 with a range of different needs, pupils having moderate learning difficulties to severe learning difficulties as well as pupils with Autism.

Responsibilities:

  • Help and support the class teacher where required
  • Reporting any issues, in line with school policy and procedure
  • Communicating effectively with children along with the staff, parents, and carers where necessary
  • Looking after students emotional, physical and social well being
  • Help promote each student love of learning
  • Where required, supporting individual needs including assisting with a wide range of medical and occasionally personal care tasks as necessary and providing physical support where needed (training will be provided in giving medical care and support) inspiring and engaging with children with a range of additional learning needs

The suitable candidate will have:

  • Primary experience
  • Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour)
  • Training related to SEND e.g. Autism Awareness, Team Teach (safe handling)
  • Experience of working 1:1 or with small groups.
  • Ability to adapt to a various working environments and students with differing abilities
  • Interest in Autism, Speech and Language and being patient and kind with an approachable personality
